"In connection with the fires that have occurred in recent days, several suspects have been identified, documents in this regard have already been collected and sent to law enforcement agencies," the director of the Forest Development department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) Aghagardash Garashov told ONA.
According to him, at present, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police are continuing the investigation: “In recent days, the main cause of forest fires is the human factor. Due to hot weather, the flow of people to the forest areas has increased, and the number of cases of careless handling of fire has also increased. There are also such facts when a person burned up a grain area and as a result, the fire spread into the forest zone.”
A. Garashov said that 5 surveillance cameras were installed to monitor forest areas in Zagatala, Oguz, Gabala, Gakh and Sheki districts. By the end of the year, surveillance cameras will be installed at other 9 locations.
