Lavrov: “Statement about Nagorno Karabakh is Armenia does not contribute to settlement of the conflict”

“The situation on the line of contact of troops is quite calm recently and there are few incidents. The incidents occurred are minor. The bodies of killed have been swapped,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said while speaking about Nagorno-Karabakh incident at the meeting of Valday Discussion Club held in Sochi, ONA’s Russian bureau reports.

Russian Foreign Minister said preparations are underway for an exchange of detained persons: “Some process underway regarding the resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group from the US, France, and Russia work very closely and friendly. I think they have met three times this year. A meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian FMs was held with my participation in April of this year. I would say the situation in the region is more stable in comparison with the previous year. The political process has been broken. It is impossible to stop the break yet. Sides release very serious statements. A statement, reflected Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Armenia, was also sounded as Albania’ PM declared Kosovo belonged to Albania. Certainly, these statements do not help to solve the conflict.”
