Erdogan: I am offended by Abdullah Gul and Ahmet Davutoglu

“I offered Ali Babacan an advisor position in the Justice and Development Party (AKP), he rejected. Earlier, the Uzbek president asked for an assistant from Turkey, Mr Ali did not respond positively to my proposal, either,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said while commenting on AKP founder, former minister Ali Babacan's resignation from the party 2 days ago, ONA’s local bureau reports.

Turkish President said he asked Ali Babacan whether they will found a new party or not: “He said did not think about it right now,  working on a platform. And I wish them good luck. I added that they would not achieve anything with this movement and it is not right to abandon our joint struggle. We did not agree on some issues, including the interest rate. The nation should not be separated.”

Erdogan also talked about the separating the way with former president Abdullah Gul and former Prime minister Ahmad Davudoglu: “We see the way of persons who were on the Prime minister and president positions. Everything was very good at the beginning. But when they leave their post, they turn away from the party they belong to."

To the question “ Did you offended by Babacan, Davutoglu and Gul?” Turkish president answered as “Surely, I am offended. They did not support the new system, elections.”
Erdogan stressed that he is a struggling partner with Binali Yildirim, a candidate to Istanbul mayorship, and it is planned to nominate his position.
