Negotiations are being held with BOTAS, a Turkish pipeline operator to reach a new contract over the supply of gas within the framework of the first stage of development on the consortium for the development of the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, the head of Public Relations Department at BP Azerbaijan Tamam Bayatli told ONA.
According to her, due to the end of the contract (envisaged transportation of 6,6 bln. cubic meters of gas annually- e.) within the framework of Shah-Deniz transportation of gas to Turkey was suspended on April 16 and negotiations are underway in order to reach a new contract. Within the framework of the Shah-Deniz project, the agreement of gas transportation was reached in 2001. Currently, negotiations are underway with BOTASH and consortium,” noted T. Bayatli.
Along with this, according to T. Bayatli, within the framework of the second stage of development of the Shah Deniz field, the transportation of gas is being fully continued.
