Azerbaijani airlines to continue flights over Iran airspace

"In connection with numerous appeals, the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC reports that AZAL and Buta Airways currently do not plan to make changes to the current schedule of flights to Iran and through the territory of this country," the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC told ONA.

The Company noted that in particular, the Buta Airways low-cost airline operates daily flights on the Baku-Tehran-Baku route and plans to operate normally in accordance with the current schedule.

Note that some airlines suspend flights over Iran and Iraq. France's airline Air France has suspended flights over Iraq and Iran airspace. Singapore Airlines, Taiwan's EVA Air and China Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Vietnam Airlines also said they had suspended flights over Iran airspace.

Recall that Boeing 737 aircraft 170 passengers (82 Iranian citizens, 63 Canadian citizens, 11 Ukrainian citizens (2 passengers and 9 crew members), 10 Swedish citizens, 4 Afghan citizens, 3 German citizens, and 3 British citizens) on board crashed today at the Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran. No one survived as a result of the crash.
