An agreement has been reached on the working group negotiating and preparing documents in connection with the regulation of cargo transportation between Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia, Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies told ONA.
According to the report, the agreement was announced within the framework of the bilateral meeting with the Minister of Transport and Communications of Russia Yevgeny Ditrix and the minister Ramin Guluzade in Moscow.
At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the field of transport and logistics, as well as measures to increase the volume of transit cargo transportation through the North-South International Transport Corridor.
The sides negotiated the use of the bridge built on Samur River in the territory of the Samur River (Azerbaijan)-Yaraq – Qazmalar (Russia) checkpoints after the commissioning of the bridge and the “Plato” system on the Azerbaijan-Russia state border.
At the same time, joint rescue operations in the Caspian Sea, expansion of cooperation in air transport and digitalization of transport were discussed.
