FIMSA: Capital adequacy in Azerbaijan exceeded 20%

“Our banks have implemented capital injections worth 120 million AZN in the first quarter of this year”, said Executive Chairman of the Executive Board of Financial Markets Supervisory Authority Ibrahim Alishov at the Fintex Summit today, ONA reports.

I. Alishov stated that during the operation period of Chamber of Accounts more than 1,8 billion AZN of capital injections was implemented in the banking sector: “It is a sign of sustainability of the banking sector. It is not surprising that international rating agency Moody’s characterized Azerbaijan’s banking system as the most sustainable sector in the region. I would like to highlight one fact: capital adequacy of Azerbaijan’s banking sector has never been over 20%. However, fortunately, today’s capital adequacy of our banking sector is 20,2%. It makes ground to consider our banking sector as a sustainable one."
