Food, beverages and tobacco prices increased in Azerbaijan by 2 percent

“In Jan-April 2019 prices for consumer goods and services have risen by 2.4% compared to the same period of 2018, including prices for food, beverages and tobacco products by 2.0%, non-food products by 1.2%, while prices for paid services have increased by 3.7%”, ONA reports citing State Statistics Committee.

In April, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.4 % compared to March, including food, drinks and tobacco products by 0.8 percent, non-food products and paid services to population raised by 0.1 percent.

During the month increase in prices of rice, pasta, mutton and chicken meat, sausage items, yoghurt, butter, corn and olive oil, margarine, lemon, orange, tangerine, apple, quince, chestnut, cabbage, pumpkin, pepper, coffee beans, sugar and sugar powder, coffee, tea and cocoa, alcoholic drinks is observed, while decrease is felt in the prices of  buckwheat, fresh fish, milk, eggs, bananas, walnuts, hazelnuts, greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, dry peas and beans and lentil. Prices of other foods remained unchanged.
