Participants of Europe League finals and EURO-2020 to be exempt from income tax

The income tax exemptions and discounts have been increased, ONA reports.

Amendments in the tax code regarding this issue are discussed at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

The amendments are related to the finals of the Europe League that will be held in Baku this year and the European Championship – 2020 games.  

In accordance with Article 102.1.34, which is proposed to be included in the Tax Code, it is stated that on the basis of the confirming document issued by the relevant body of executive power in the manner prescribed by the relevant executive power to submit the goods, doing services related to the finals of the European League and the continental championship to be held in Azerbaijan and non-resident physical persons involved in the provision of services and the non-resident football clubs, players, and employees whose income is related to these games is exempt from the tax.

The draft bill notes that the law will be effective from March 1, 2019 until August 1, 2020.

The amendment to the Code was adopted after the discussion by voting.
