Inauguration of Trans-Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP) has played an important role in boosting the volume of gas transportation from Azerbaijan to Turkey in January 2019, ONA reports citing Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
In January of 2019, Turkey imported 808 mln. cubic meter gas from Azerbaijan and the figure is 36 % more compared to January of 2018(The figure for January 2018 was 594.15 mln cubic meter). Thus Azerbaijan stands in the third place of Turkey’s general gas import.
According to EMRA, Turkey imported 1,84 bln. Cubic meter gas from Russia through the pipeline and this is 31,62 % less compared to January of the previous year.
“In January, the volume of natural gas purchased from Azerbaijan reached the highest level amounted to 808 million cubic meters. TANAP gas pipeline has played an important role in the field,” EMRA states.
TANAP will carry Azerbaijan’s natural gas to Turkey and then to Europe.
