Within the framework of the Ighdir-Nakhchivan gas pipeline, Turkey’s BOTAS company presented relevant project documents to the Azerbaijani side, Ibrahim Ahmadov, Deputy Chief of SOCAR's Public Relations and Events Department told ONA-Economics.
"SOCAR is not currently directly involved in this project, but only a mediator in the exchange of information between the two countries. The project submitted by BOTAS has been submitted to the relevant government agencies and is currently being considered," he said. Ahmadov stressed.
A spokesman for the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry Cahid Mikayilov recalled that a Memorandum of Understanding on the supply of natural gas to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was signed between the Energy Ministry and the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in December last year.
