Azerbaijan tries to build infrastructure to connect the Southern Gas Corridor with other gas sources, said Vitaliy Baylarbayov, Deputy Vice President for Investments and Marketing at SOCAR, at 26th International Caspian Oil and Gas Conference, ONA reports.
According to him, the Southern Gas Corridor has been constructed and operations have already been started.
“Indeed, this is a successful initiative and the establishment of the corridor was not so easy. Of course, if there is an opportunity for us or there is other pipelines or international attractive offers, we will take advantage of these opportunities”- V. Baylarbayov noted.
The official of SOCAR also stressed that Azerbaijan's Southern Gas Corridor is not only built for the "Shah Deniz" and it also takes into account oil/gas deposits in Azerbaijan and outside the country.
“It does not matter whether it is a trans-Caspian pipeline, or the pipelines along the Southern Gas Corridor. All other extractors can join the corridor”- V. Baylarbayov added.
