General Prosecutor’s Office disseminated statement regarding death of soldier

The false information has been disseminated in some mass media outlets and social media web pages regarding the alleged detection of marks of violence on the corpse of Fardi Yaraliyev, a resident of Uchgun village of Guba region died as a result of drowning in the waters of Alazan River while doing his military service, the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office told ONA.

As those pieces of information serving for forming false representation in the wider public by the mass media outlets in order to create artificial hype didn’t correspond with the reality, they are being refuted.

Thus, based on the information received by Zagatala military prosecutor’s office from the military unit # N of the State Border Service regarding death of the soldier Fardi Namik Yaraliyev as a result of drowning in the waters of Alazan River, the visual inspection of the scene of incident was immediately conducted by staff members of the prosecutor’s office, the items representing significance for the case were taken as material proofs, the relevant examinations were determined, the witnesses were interrogated and other actions were executed.

The criminal case was initiated for this incident in Zagatala military prosecutor’s office based on the clause 342.1-1 (negligent approach to service causing death of aggrieved person through carelessness or other grave consequences) of the Criminal Code, the investigation group consisting of professional staff members of the prosecutor’s office was established and the urgent and necessary investigation actions are being implemented.

During the external and internal examination of corpse of the late Fardi Yaraliyev, no injury or traces of injury were detected on the surface of the body.

Currently, the necessary investigative and operational measures are being continued under this criminal case.

The General Prosecutor’s Office of the Azerbaijan Republic warns the mass media outlets against disseminating pieces of information not corresponding with reality and non-clarified pieces of information.
