"No explosives or devices were detected in the plane that made an emergency landing in Baku," reads the statement released by the State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan, ONA reports.
"In accordance with the existing international and national legislation, complex urgent procedural measures were initiated in connection with the incident. Chairman of the headquarters, established on the instructions of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan Colonel-General Madat Guliyev, head of the State Border Service Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, chairman of the State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev, president of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC Jahangir Askerov and other responsible persons of the relevant state authorities arrived at the airport.
As part of the appropriate measures, passengers and crew members of the aircraft were evacuated, provided with the necessary conditions, special attention was paid to those in need of psychological support. The operational investigative team, consisting of law enforcement officers and a special-purpose squad, using technical, canine and other means, conducted a comprehensive anti-terrorism test on the plane, inspected the aircraft, and launched a full investigation into the cause of the incident. As a result, it was determined that there were no explosives and devices in the aircraft, information was collected and framed in connection with the cause of the incident.
Currently, passengers and crew members of the aircraft were accommodated in the appropriate order. The plane will fly to its destination in the near future. The international airport continues to work in a normal mode, "- said in a statement.
