The desire of the Prime Minister of Armenia to change the format of the negotiations on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can be viewed as the destruction of the results of the OSCE MG activities, especially the co-chairs from Russia, the USA and France, ONA reports citing the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
It is noted that the format of the negotiations, approved in 1992 by the decision of the Helsinki Council of Ministers, cannot be changed without a consensus of the OSCE member states:
“We remind that, according to this decision, Armenia and Azerbaijan are parties to the conflict, and the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities of Nagorno-Karabakh act as stakeholders. It would be good if the Armenian leadership did not waste time on vocabulary improvisations in order to find new ways for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Everyone who has been involved in the process of settling the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict for many years knows and accepts that the plan for resolving the conflict has long been defined.”
