Azerbaijani president visits memorial to Khojaly genocide victims

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited today the memorial to victims of the Khojaly genocide, erected in the Khatai District of Baku, ONA reports.

A guard of honor was lined up at the memorial, flowers were laid.

President Ilham Aliyev put a wreath at the monument to commemorate the victims of the genocide.

First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, Prime Minister Novruz Mamedov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva laid flowers at the monument.

State and government officials, deputies of the Milli Majlis, ministers, heads of committees, representatives of the diplomatic corps, heads of religious denominations, as well as residents of Khojaly who were saved during the tragedy also laid flowers at the monument.

Note that a march on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide is being held in Baku, Azerbaijan with the participation of the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev
