“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Nagorno-Karabakh is a violation of international law,” said Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, ONA reports.
He said the pressure on the constructive negotiation process contradicts the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
“We condemn these visits. No one doubts the occupation of Azerbaijan’s territory by Armenia. But, unfortunately, the current standards in international relations do not allow for each party to be called by its name. International norms are violated in the Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia.”
“The Minsk Group co-chairs are making certain attempts to bring the sides closer to each other for the negotiations to happen. On such a backdrop, Pashinyan’s visit is not reasonable. This is a destructive step in terms of the negotiation process.”
