French court abolishes “Charter on Friendship” between separatist Nagorno Karabakh regime and city of Arnouville

On June 4, French Administrative Court has abolished “Charter on Friendship” signed between the city of Arnouville (Val-d'Oise department in Île-de-Francein northernFrance) and occupied Khojavand district of Azerbaijan, ONA reports.

Court has decided that the signed document is illicit, doesn’t contain any legal power and contradicts international commitments of France.

Hearings of the process have begun on February 28, 2019, and finished on May 29.

Note that it has been the first decision of the French court in favor of Azerbaijan since 2013. At that time Azerbaijani side has appealed to the French court regarding solving the issue on separatist regime’s legitimization attempts of occupation of Nagorno Karabakh and seven districts around of it.

Some experts consider that this fair decision of the French Themis ensures that courts will abolish other such illegal charters signed by regime established in occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
