“According to the information, disseminated in mass media of Armenia and fictitious regime in occupied Azerbaijani territories, delegation of the University of Lille has paid a visit to Nagorno Garabagh. As Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Garabagh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we severely condemn visit of a group of co-workers of the French University of Lille to Garabagh”, said head of Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Garabagh region the Republic of Azerbaijan Tural Ganjaliyev, ONA reports.
According to him, how it is even possible that the professors and teachers' delegation of the University of Lille, who have ancient and rich traditions, specialized in high information technologies, did not collect information about their destination, did not receive information about the occupation of the region by Armenia.
“It makes us very disappointed. In particular, we consider this as disrespect to international law, and as an insult to the spirits of the Azerbaijanis who have been expelled from their lands and killed as a result of the Armenian aggression there. If the staff of the University of Lille did not have information about the place where they go, this is a shameful situation for them. No, if they deliberately went to our occupied territories, then they have taken a step contrary to the official French position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Garabagh conflict. Because France recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, its sovereignty and the fact of the Armenian occupation unambiguously. Moreover, France plays a role as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. They visit the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and at the same time undermine France's reputation as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group. Because France is a neutral and objective function here. Simultaneously, they undermine France's reputation as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group by visiting the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Because France realizes a neutral and objective function here. I think this movement of the university is completely unacceptable. We demand administration of the University of Lille to take serious actions against those teachers and professors. We believe that they will prevent such illegal visits in the future”, said T. Ganjaliyev
