The Ministry of Foreign Affairs OF Turkey has issued a statement on the Khojaly genocide, ONA reports.
"We strongly condemn the Khojaly genocide and the continuation of occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia", the statemebt reads.
The document says that during an attack by armed units of Armenia on Khojaly in the Nagorny Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on February 26, 1992, hundreds of Azerbaijani citizens were killed, wounded, and captured/
“As a result of this attack on civilians and the occupation of Azerbaijan’s lands by Armenia, more than one million Azerbaijanis were expelled from their native lands. They were forced to live in the status of refugees in their homeland. We deeply feel the pain of this genocide, we sincerely share it. Condolences to relatives who have lost their loved ones in this tragedy. We wish our Azerbaijani sisters and brothers patience”, - reads the statement.
