Zakharova: “Population leaves Kalbajar for Armenia en masse ”

“Population leaves Kalbajar for Armenia en masse,” said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mariya Zakharova at the briefing held today, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to her, from November 14 more than 3 thousand people returned to Nagorno Karabakh: “The number of them is 3 054.”

The official of Russian MFA noted that from November 13 the bodies of 385 people were handed over and this figure covers both sides.”

M. Zakharova said that her country plans to cooperate with OSCE and other international organizations in this field: “We plan to cooperate with organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UNESCO. On November 17 the head of Russian MFA Sergei Lavrov discussed with the President of ICRC in Moscow the issue of exchanging prisoners of war and detained persons. We consider that ICRC may play an important role in the elimination of humanitarian results occurring in Nagorno Garabagh.”
