Aide to Azerbaijani President: “We want further expansion of political dialogue and cooperation with NATO”

“This conference is an important event from NATO-Azerbaijani relations point of view,” said Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev in an international conference entitled “Azerbaijan's contribution to the Euro-Atlantic Peace and Security” organized by Latvian Embassy to Azerbaijan with ADA University as a coordinator Embassy of NATO in Azerbaijan for 2021-2022 today, ONA reports.

H. Hajiyev noted that NATO’s active position in the protection of international peace and security is welcomed, in its turn, Azerbaijan also supports cooperation for peace: “We want further expansion of political dialogue and cooperation with the NATO. We highly appreciate durable dialogue with NATO countries. I visited NATO Head Quarters recently, we had interesting, important discussions, we informed on the situation after the conflict in Southern Caucasus. We have successful cooperation with the NATO in practical cooperation field besides political dialogue. As an example of this, Azerbaijan contributes to protection of peace and security in Afghanistan. Azerbaijan also provides logistical support to the NATO by air.”

Presidential Aide noted that “Zangazur Corridor” project, which was put forward by Azerbaijan, can be a successful example for the expansion of relations in the region.
