The Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) Asaf Hajiyev commented on the Georgian Parliament Irakli Kobaxidze and Georgian delegation's return to Tbilisi without completing their visit to Azerbaijan, ONA reports.
A. Hajiyev stated that unexpected events occurred in Georgia and the return of the Georgian delegation to the country is regarding this: “The speaker of the Georgian Parliament was on an official visit to Azerbaijan. The official visit stopped. The speaker returned to his country yesterday. We should understand them. The situation in Georgia is very difficult, the problem is exactly in the parliament. That’s why Georgian delegation came back urgently. But it does not impact on the work of Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization. Because several documents were made unanimously. An absence of one country does not impact on this.”
Recall that demonstrators gathered outside the building of the Georgian parliament, demanding the resignation of the Speaker and the Interior Minister. The reason for the mass rally was the participation of State Duma Deputy Sergey Gavrilov and other delegates from Russia in the 26th session of the General Assembly of the International Assembly of Orthodoxy (MAP) in Tbilisi.
