Azerbaijan allocates $30,000 aid to Burundi refugees

Under the instruction of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, $30,000 have been allocated to provide humanitarian assistance to the Burundi refugees in response to the appeal of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the member states, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told ONA.

The funds will be used to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of Burundi refugees settled in Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda, promoting their return to their country and reintegrating them into society.

UNHCR has appealed to member states to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of refugees such as food, medical care, children's education, and so on.
