Azerbaijan transfers aid in amount of US$ 100 thousand to humanitarian affairs and development department of ICO in Niger

In response to the appeal of the Islamic Cooperation Organization (ICO) to the member states regarding the tense social and economic situation in Sahel region of Africa, in order to support the transformation of the humanitarian affairs and development department of ICO in Niger into the ICO’s Regional Office, by instruction of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, the aid in the amount of US$ 100 thousand has been transmitted to that organization by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) told ONA.

It was noted that the decision regarding transformation of the mentioned department of the ICO into the Regional Office was adopted at the 46th session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of ICO held on March 1-2, 2019 in Abu Dhabi and the 14th Summit of Heads of States and Governments of ICO held on May 31, 2019 in Mecca.
