The 12th meeting of the Commissions on the delimitation and demarcation of state borders between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia was held on May 23-24, 2019 in Baku, the press-service of Azerbaijani MFA told ONA.
The delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan led by Khalaf Khalafov, Deputy Foreign Minister, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for border issues and the Caspian Sea, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the delegation of Georgia led by Lasha Darsalia, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative of the Government of Georgia for border issues.
The meeting was also attended by experts and representatives of the relevant state bodies of both countries. The issues of passing the state border line were considered and a detailed discussion of all uncoordinated sections took place.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to conduct a joint inspection of uncoordinated sections of the state border at the expert level on site.
The parties also agreed to study and assess the relevant legal documents and cartographic materials related to determining the passage of the state border line.
The parties agreed to hold a regular meeting of the Commission in Tbilisi.
Date will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
