Belgian Parliament refuses so-called "Armenian genocide"

On April 25, 2019, the Federal Parliament of Belgium adopted a law criminalizing the denial of genocides committed in Rwanda, Cambodia, and former Yugoslavia, ONA reports.

Efforts to include the so-called "Armenian genocide" in the list failed.

Commenting on the issue, Belgian Minister of Justice Kun Gens stressed that the new bill was included only in the framework of international law, in order to bring the country legislation into line with EU and Council of Europe regulations, and does not include such decision on the Armenian genocide.
