EU ambassador: “We know that security, independence and territorial integrity is important for our partners”

“European Union is established after the Second World War as a peace project”, ONA reports.

According to the information, it is said by the head of the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas at the panel discussions organized within the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

He said that Europe entered the longest period of peace after the establishment of the EU: “The reason is the common interests of different states and this makes the conflict impossible. The European Union adopted a global strategy in 2006. According to the strategy, if our neighbors are not stable and secure, we are not, either.”

The ambassador noted that the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership program will be celebrated: Azerbaijan is also a member of this program. We know that security, independence, and territorial integrity are important for our partners.”
 
The diplomat said that the EU proposes to work together in the globalizing world. “Azerbaijan also pursues a capable foreign policy. It is very natural that we will work together.”
