The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Turkmenistan signed the Bucharest Declaration following the meeting, ONA reports.
The document was signed by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Meleshkanu and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
The ministers reaffirmed mutual respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and immunity of internationally recognized borders.
They noted an important project for the development of the international transport route between the Black and Caspian Seas for the four countries in the format of quadrilateral cooperation.
The parties stressed that the Black and Caspian Seas play an important role in the further promotion of the cargo transportation route as a competitive link connecting Europe and Asia.
The ministers noted that the Black Sea-Caspian Sea international transport route will complete other similar regional projects aimed at the efficient transportation of goods from Asian countries to Europe through the Caspian and Black Seas through Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Turkmenistan.
