Today, at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis, there was an objection related to Keshikchidag issue due to Georgia’s recent claims, ONA reports.
During the discussions on the changes of Laws of Roads, the Member of Azerbaijani Parliament Ganira Pashayeva said that historical monuments in Tbilisi, Borchali are precious for Azerbaijan.
She said that Azerbaijan is always sensitive: “Azerbaijan has always been perceptible to the relations with Georgia, but territorial integrity is more important. That monument has always been Azerbaijan’s property and within Azerbaijan’s borders. Our people should call it Keshikchidag cultural monument, not David Gareja monastery complex.”
The Member of Azerbaijani Parliament Nasib Mahmaliyev considers claims on Keshikchidag unacceptable: “These polemics should be evaded, the commissions must act intensely.”
