“It is an honor for me to be awarded by President Ilham Aliyev”, said Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu in his statement to journalists after the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Council of Cooperation of Turkic-speaking States today in Baku, ONA reports.
He said he has been awarded for defending Azerbaijan and for working in the area of strengthening of cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan: “Everybody in Turkey along with defending Turkey’s rightful struggle, also supports Azerbaijan’s struggle as well. Azerbaijan defends Turkey’s rights as ardently as we do in the events not attended by us. Therefore the fact that we have been awarded with this medal by President Ilham Aliyev is an honor for us”.
The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that from here on they will continue to defend Azerbaijan: “If we are one nation and two states, then we shall implement all necessary obligations arising from this. During my future political life I will always and everywhere support Azerbaijan’s rightful struggle”.
