“It is a sovereign right of every country to hold different exercises in the territory within the international borders,” said the head of the press service of Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Leyla Abdullayeva, ONA reports.
According to her, so far, Azerbaijan has held numerous military exercises in its territory, as well as joint exercises with the attendance of partner countries.
“Joint exercises launched in Lachin district is a step of this kind and serves sability in the region. We bring into notice of Armenian MFA that threat to regional peace and security is not the state’s military training on its own territory but making claim to another state’s territory, to pursue the policy of military aggression, to keep another state’s territory under occupation, and the violation of principles of international law like Armenia have been doing for many years.
If Armenia wants to ensure peace and security in the region, then it should comply with implementation of obligations signed by and itself,” L. Abdullayeva noted.
