The Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation started in Beijing on April 26, ONA reports.
A delegation of Azerbaijan headed by President Ilham Aliyev is taking part in the Forum.
The forum is attended by 37 heads of state and government, heads of international organizations.
This year’s forum is attended by leaders from Azerbaijan, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and other countries.
Twelve-panel discussions and other events will be organized within the Forum.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the second Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum, Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping thanked all the participants.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Egypt Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres hailed the importance of the Belt and Road initiative.
