“The humanistic step of Azerbaijan government and its people was a praiseworthy and valuable step,” the Secretary-General of Iranian Red Crescent Society Mahmoud Reza Peyravi told ONA.
Thanking for the humanitarian aid of Azerbaijan in connection with the floods in Iran last month, Mahmoud Reza Peyravi said that this shows how important are the other people to Azerbaijanis.
Expressing hope that Iran and Azerbaijan would cooperate in the field of aid and rescue, the Secretary-General emphasized that the two countries could organize joint training and joint exercises.
He condemned the US sanction against Iran: “At present, more than USD 4 million aid sent by different countries to flood victims are collected in the account of the International Committee of the Red Cross, but there is no way to send this aid to Iran. At present, as a non-governmental humanitarian organization, all our funding channels have been closed. We can not receive aid from anywhere."
