Speaker of Turkish Parliament: "I do not see Pelosi's visit to Armenia as goodwill gesture"

"Visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives of the U.S., one of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group, Nancy Pelosi, who has not taken any step, lifted a finger while many international organizations declared Armenia as an occupant during 28 years, to Armenia after Azerbaijan's liberation its territories from occupation will not be useful for peace in the region, as well as in the world, and I do not see it as a goodwill gesture," said Speaker of Turkish Parliament Mustafa Sentop, ONA reports.

Sentop also reminded that Nancy Pelosi had recently paid a controversial trip to Taiwan.

Sentop, who stressed that it is normal for the Parliament Speaker of one country to visit another country, also stated that this visit "has the potential to provoke and deepen the crisis" within the framework of the recent normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijani relations.

"We also spoke with the Speaker of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis, saying our readiness to visit Azerbaijan if it is suitable. The Chairman of the Milli Majlis was supposed to visit Britain. We have always declared that we are with Azerbaijan in this process. After that, we will continue to stand by Azerbaijan," Sentop added.
