TGNA chairman: "New cooperation opportunities emerged in Southern Caucasus with liberation of Karabakh”

“We are a family of 300 million people who speak the same language, share the same religion, culture, history and traditions, the descendants of the generations who brought justice and unity to mankind from Asia to Europe”, said Mustafa Shentop, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in a video address at the Symposium called "Past, Present, and Future of the Turkic Speaking World" organized by Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TURKPA) and Azerbaijan Ataturk Center, APA’s local bureau reports.

He noted that Turkic countries make efforts to be equal and in solidarity in politics, economics, tourism, energy, culture, and other fields: “We live the pleasure of the further development of cooperation between our parliaments. Our unity, established 30 years ago, develops in all fields on the example of Turkic Council, TURKPA, TURKSOY institutions”.

M. Shentop noted new cooperation opportunities emerged in the Southern Caucasus with Azerbaijan’s liberation of Karabakh territories from occupation after 30 years: “Azerbaijani brothers liberated the greatest pearl of the Caucasus Karabakh with their confidence, heroism, and principality. As Turkey, we stood by our brothers from the beginning to end of the Patriotic War and demonstrated our unity to the whole world. The victory of Azerbaijan obtained after the 44-days War opened a new opportunity window from the establishment of regional cooperation in the Southern Caucasus point of view.”

TGNA Chair stressed the significance of regional countries’ and Turkic Union’s benefiting from the opportunity.
