Liu Zhenmin, the Under-Secretary-General for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, is on an official visit to Azerbaijan to attend the UN Public Services Forum, which will be held on 24-26 June 2019 in our country, APA reports.
The UN Under-Secretary-General has today visited the ASAN service center.
Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (“ASAN xidmət”) Ulvi Mehdiyev briefed the guest about the activities and innovations of ASAN service centers. It was noted that up to date, about 30 million citizens have been registered and ASAN Service has been awarded the United Nations Public Service Award 2015.
The UN Under-Secretary-General also got acquainted with ASAN volunteers, ASAN radio, ASAN Training and Training Center, and ABAD.
Liu Zhenmin noted that successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Nations and the State Agency occupy a special place in this cooperation.
Note that this is the first UN event to be held in our country in the field of public services and more than 500 delegates will join from more than 190 countries around the world.
