“The South Caucasus is a strategic crossroads between Asia and Europe, with rich hydrocarbon fields and transport corridors,” said deputy Turkish FM Yavuz Selim Kiran at a webinar titled "Regional Geopolitical Polarization and Turkish-Azerbaijani Relations" jointly organized by Center of AIR and the Turkish Foreign Ministry's Center for Strategic Studies, ONA reports.
Kiran noted that joint projects of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia are important for the development of the region: “Aggressive policy of Armenia is an obstacle to the development of the region. Armenia has been creating problems in the region since its establishment. Armenia resorts to provocation to divert attention from its domestic problems. Turkey continues to strongly support the settlement of the Nagorno Garabagh conflict within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and international law. Armenia should immediately withdraw from Azerbaijani occupied territories. If the occupation continues to date, it means rewarding the occupant. The provocation conducted by Armenia in the direction of the Tovuz region of the Republic of Azerbaijan demonstrates that Armenia is the main obstacle to the development of the region.”
Deputy Turkish Fm noted that Azerbaijan's support in Syria, the Mediterranean, and other regions is important for Turkey.
