Working group holds a meeting on unmarked areas of Azerbaijani-Georgian border - UPDATED

Working meeting of experts of state commissions on delimitation and demarcation of the state border between Georgia and the Azerbaijan Republic held on August 19, ONA reports citing Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Sides discussed the progress of the delimitation process and stated their positions on unmarked areas. Envisaged fieldwork, conduction of joint measurement work in uncoordinated areas and reviewing that places are planned. Experts will review different areas together and will plan to review uncoordinated territories in future stage on August 19-23.

Working group meeting was held on undetermined areas of Azerbaijani-Georgian border around Keshikchidagh monastery complex, ONA’s local bureau reports citing public television of Georgia.

Sides discussed the progress of the delimitation process and discrepancies in positions. Work on field works – joint research and their investigations at the undetermined parts is planned in the meeting.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on August 19-23, the commission's experts plan to conduct joint work on separate sites and visit unmarked areas.
