Allocation of AZN 600 million for fight against COVID-19 envisaged in state budget for next year

Based on Order #1950 dated March 19, 2020, of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On a number of measures for reduction of negative impact of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the sharp fluctuations occurring on the world energy and stock markets and arising from the pandemic on economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, macroeconomic stability, employment issues and entrepreneurial entities in the country”, AZN 1,0 billion have been allocated from the state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Cabinet of Ministers for financing of the measures regarding preservation of macroeconomic stability in the condition of negative impacts of the pandemic during 2020, continuation of state support to the aggrieved entrepreneurial entities, and solution of employment problems and social problems that may emerge in the country, ONA reports.

This has found its reflection in the statement of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding initial indicators of the state and round-up budgets for 2021.

The total support package in amount of AZN 3,5 billion has been envisaged by mobilizing the financial resources for the state budget, the state funds and other sources and has been rated for covering of a total of about 3,0 million people.

It was noted in the document that the resources in the amount of AZN 600 million have been forecasted for financing of the expenses associated with continuation of measures of fighting against COVID-19 pandemic during 2021 as well.
