Azerbaijan’s former ambassador to Turkey, the head of the Consulate Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Faig Baghirov has submitted an appeal petition against the remand in custody measure chosen in regard to him, ONA reports.
The appeal petition has been received by the court from his lawyer.
The appeal petition will be considered in the Baku Appeal Court in the upcoming days.
Note that the head of the Consulate Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Faig Baghirov has been detained. The charge has been raised in regard to F. Baghirov based on clauses 179.3.2 (in case of committing of appropriation in massive amount), 308.1 (going beyond official powers), and 1.3.2 (taking of massive amount of bribes) of the Criminal Code. A presentation about him has been received by Sabail District Court. The presentation will be considered by judge Shahin Abdullayev. It is expected that today, the remand in custody measure will be chosen in regard to him.
Recall that a few days ago, the State Security Service conducted an operation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
