Azerbaijan’s MIA given authority to apply fine for violation of rules of halting and stopping of vehicles in Baku

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has been given a new authority, APA reports.

This has found its reflection in the order dated July 10 of President Ilham Aliyev “about making change in Order # 795 dated February 15, 2016 of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic “about implementation of the Law # 96-VQ of the Azerbaijan Republic dated December 29, 2015 “about approval of the Administrative Offences Code of the Azerbaijan Republic”. 

So far the cases related to administrative offences regarding the incidents when a person who committed the administrative offence envisaged for violation of rules of car stopping or halting on the administrative area of Baku City, and for parking of transport facility at a parking site for more than 24 hours is not near his transport facility while that transport facility creates obstacles to road traffic and movement of pedestrians have been investigated by the Baku Transport Agency. 

According to the change, the relevant authority in this area has been given to the MIA. 

Thus, the MIA has the authority to apply a fine amounting to AZN 20 for violation of vehicle stopping or halting rules on the administrative territory of Baku City, AZN 40 for stopping or halting of a transport facility being in common use at the parking ground or stopping or halting of other transport facilities at a distance of less than 15 meters from the road signs # 5.12, 5.13, and AZN 20 for parking of a transport facility at a parking site for more than 24 hours.

According to the order, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Baku Transport Agency have been charged with taking measures for prevention of the repeated bringing to administrative responsibility for committing by a person of the same administrative offence connected with violation of vehicle halting and stopping rules.
