Azerbaijan's SBS prevents smuggling of 115 kg of narcotic drugs and fire arms

On May 4, the illegal smuggling onto the country’s territory of 115 kg of narcotic substances and fire arms was prevented, the State Border Service told ONA.

At about 23:30, the approaching to the territory of grey colored vehicle of VAZ-2107 brand, the getting out of vehicle of one person and his suspicious conduct and observation of the surrounding territory by him on the service area of the border outpost near Ahmadli village of Beylagan region in the service territory of Horadiz border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service attracted attention of the border patrol unit.

It has been determined the detained person, born in 1970 in Boyuk Bahmanli village of Fuzuli district and lives in this village at the moment, is a citizen of the Russian Federation Mehtiyev Shukur Asgar, and totally, 115 kg of narcotic drugs such as heroin, opium, marijuana, and methamphetamine, a 9 mm PAK RETAY-11 pistol, 8 bullets of 9 mm caliber, a cartridge, a 12 mm King magnum hunting handgun, 19 Mahama bullets with 12 caliber, produced in Iran, have been found in the packages, which have been carried by him to car and been left under tree.

The border patrol unit put on their masks according to the instruction and kept under control movement of that person. Despite of the fact that the mentioned person didn’t obey command, showed resistance to the border patrol unit and attempted to run away from the scene of incident, he was detained by the border patrol unit.

The criminal case has been initiated into this incident on the basis of clauses 206, 228, 234 and 318 of Criminal Code of the Azerbaijan Republic, while the necessary operational and investigative actions are being continued for bringing to criminal responsibility of other members of the criminal group.
