The second international conference on "Inter-religious dialogue and struggle against radicalism" has started at ADA University, ONA reports.
The conference is organized by the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, the European Union Delegation in Azerbaijan and ADA University.
The deputy head of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan, Denis Daniilidis said that recent events in New Zealand Christchurch and Sri Lanka showed that the fight against religious radicalism has not ended yet. The people who lost their lives in New Zeland’s Christchurch and Sri Lanka were commemorated with a minute of silence. Chairman to the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mubariz Gurbanli stated that multicultural values have found its place in the policy pursued by Azerbaijan: “ 32 religious communities operate in Azerbaijan. There is freedom of religion and conscience in our country.”
