Chairman of Service: “Applications for refugee status in Georgia and Armenia are 2-3 times more than Azerbaijan”

“Azerbaijani citizens who travel abroad and lost their passports or said that they lost are repatriated to our country within the framework of readmission agreements by the migration agencies of those countries”, said Vusal Huseynov, chairman of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan in his briefing with journalists, ONA reports.

Chairman of the Service noted that the repatriation of those people is carried out by the state migration agencies: “Germany is relatively on the forefront in the statistics related to the applications on repatriations of Azerbaijani citizens to our country within readmission agreements. However, I would like to note that this situation exists all over the world. Such issues are less in Azerbaijan than the neighboring countries. If we take into account number ratio of population in Georgia and Armenia, applications for refugee status are 2-3 times more in those countries than in our country”.
