“The State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance has contracts with 5 private hospitals”, said Shukur Eyvazov, Head of Department on Work with Regional Centers under State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, ONA reports.
He said these hospitals include the Central Clinical Hospital, the Republican Diagnostics Center, the Baku Health Center, the Ganja International Hospital and the Ganja branch of the Central Clinics: “By means of the appointments cards of the Agency the patients will be able to benefit free of charge from the services under compulsory medical insurance at the private hospitals. Of course, the appointment cards will not be issued to every patient. If there is a service which is envisaged in the package of services but can’t be rendered at public hospitals, then a patient will be sent to one of the private hospitals which have concluded a contract with us. In such case, a citizen will benefit from that service at private clinics without making any payment. Note that in the framework of the pilot project, 37 children with congenital heart disorder have got operated at various private and public hospitals.
Some 170 persons from Aghdash region have undergone coronary arteriography (angio) and heart stent insertion surgeries at private hospitals. Those citizens didn’t make any payment”.
Sh. Eyvazov noted that the signing of similar contracts with other private hospitals had also been scheduled for the future.
