"Share of non-infectious diseases is higher more than other contagious diseases for illness, death, and disability”, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Health Rahim Aliyev told reporters, ONA reports.
He stated aging rate in the world is increasing: “It is a result of the fight against infectious diseases. However share of non-communicable diseases is increasing. Currently, attention to these diseases has increased. Rate of death from non-infectious diseases is 44% among people under 70 in the world. This indicator in Azerbaijan is a little higher. Thus, rate of death from non-infectious diseases is 48% in Azerbaijan. This indicator does not reach 30% in highly-paid developed countries, it is 26%.”
According to the Deputy Minister, fight against non-communicable diseases should be carried out seriously in Azerbaijan: “Only medicine is not responsible for the issue. All bodies should fight together. Promotion of physically-active lifestyle, awareness measures, and decrease of use of tobacco can be examples for it.”
