“Due to poverty and diseases, climate problems, high levels of inequality and rapid population growth the UN has put forward by 2030 its Sustainable Development Goals to seriously change the world we live in”, said today Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the National Coordination Council on Sustainable Development Ali Ahmadov at the conference “Youth Organizations for Sustainable Development Goals”, ONA reports.
Deputy Prime Minister stated that Azerbaijan successfully fulfills its commitments regarding Sustainable Development Goals: “45% of the Azerbaijani population is the young people aged 30. The objectives that we put forward are mainly related to the improvement of living standards of the young people. Young people also have important tasks in this regard. The world's population will increase by more than one billion people by 2030. Population will most likely grow in Africa and Asia. The population in Africa will reach 1,6 billion people from 1,2 billion and Asia 5 billion from 4,5 billion. However the number of job places is not increased accordingly with these numbers. This causes migration problems. The solution to these problems is the task of the humankind and the states. 10 years are left, but the problems are rising”.
