“In connection with the preparation of the General Plan of Baku, 4 main priorities have been adopted,” Anar Guliyev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, said during a discussion of approaches to the General Plan of Baku, ONA reports.
According to him, one of the main directions is to take into account the fact that Baku is multicenter: "The purpose of this is to reduce the load attributable to the center of the capital. Today, along with the historical center, there is a traditional one. Approaches involve the creation of additional centers. Today in Baku there is one historical center. One of the main priorities is the development of the city, taking into account its historical heritage."
The deputy chairman of the committee noted that another approach to the preparation of the General plan of Baku is connected with the transport infrastructure: “The metro is important in everyday life. As a result of efficient work based on the proposals, we have prioritized the number of stations and the sequence of their opening.”
The deputy chairman of the committee said that the process of preparing the General Plan of Baku will continue until the end of 2020: "The agreed draft will be submitted to the government for approval at the end of next year."
