“Entrance to the Palace of Sheki Khans can be restored”, Kanan Guluzade, the Press Secretary of the State Tourism Agency, told ONA.
According to him, restoration of entrance to the Palace of Sheki Khans should be agreed with other relevant state bodies.
“Recovery and cleaning works have already been conducted, trees have been pruned. Entrance to the Palace of Sheki Khans can be restored after getting contest of other state bodies”, said Mr. Guluzade.
Remind that, a branch with a diameter of about 50 cm of a tree, belonging to 1530, suddenly broke and fell over tourists in the territory of the Palace of Sheki Khans on July 14. The incident left 19 people with various body injuries. One of the injured died in the hospital. 13 of the damaged people were released home after first medical assistance. The rest of the injured is being treated in hospitals. Responsible officials of the Ministries of Emergent Situations, Ecology, and Natural Resources, the State Tourism Agency, and the Prosecutor General’s Office were sent to Sheki in order to determine the reason for the incident, occurred in the territory of the Palace. Under the decision of the State Tourism Agency’s leadership, entrance to the Palace of Sheki Khans, situated in the “Yukari-Bash” State Historical-Architectural Reserve is restricted for a while.
